Snow report Grisons, 02/10/2017
Solitary ski tour to the rear of Sertigtal/Davos. Destination: Ducan glacier. However, I didn't climb to the summit and instead took advantage of the fantastic snow conditions on the Ducan glacier. The summit ridge didn't look particularly inviting.

Snow condition
Very well snowed in. No stones. There is a good 50 cm of snow in Sertig. There is enough snow above 1400 m in the whole region. Below that, especially on the south side, increasingly precarious.
Snow quality
Airy powder, not windswept and no cover from the summit to the valley. The slopes were obviously well protected by the foehn. It was blowing strongly on the ridge. The snow was a bit settled but fantastic for skiing.
Risks
Considerable, but set. The steep slopes below the Hoch Ducan have almost all already been skied and so you climb up the lower part over the snow-covered avalanche cones. At the top, you can avoid all the steep slopes with a good set of tracks. I was out alone today. In the last few days, there have been large accumulations of drift snow near the crest, which is probably the reason for the considerable depth.
Overall impression
Beautiful solitary ski tour in top snow conditions. The lower part is a bit tedious, flat and long slope traverse. Super slopes at the top. More touring and freeriding tips in the Freeride Guide Davos Klosters from Freerideguide.ch
