Magic Maloja powder plant (reference dates 28.2. and 1.3.)

Overall impression
Snow condition
Contrary to expectations, enough base & freshness in the Magic Forest on Tuesday for shredding without remorse in the current dump. Then on Wednesday, after the end of the dump, a total of around 30-40cm of freshness on top of everything.
Snow quality
It was still nice and powdery on Tuesday. However, as the snowfall tended to take place at higher temperatures, all the powder was already quite compacted on Wednesday in bright sunshine, but still powder. The wind influence directly in Maloja was rather weak to moderate up to 2100m.
Risks
Not a particularly apocalyptic scene directly in and around Maloja (LLB had once flirted with a 4 for the area. That definitely didn't happen). No spontaneous descents, but nevertheless increasing wind influence with altitude (Julierpass was more or less bare), so a 3 was certainly justified at the top. Due to the warming, however, everything should settle down.
Overall impression
Certainly the place to have been on both days! All in all, a solid base for more dumps to come soon. Only 3 stars, because that little bit of extra fluffyness and maybe (I really don't want to be ungrateful, but... 10 centimeters more for the Powkalypse were missing.
