Ski tour on the Flüela Pass
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Worse snow conditions than yesterday in Klosters. More wind influence and that probably over the whole winter, there is really a lot of blowing. You often come into contact with stones and the landscape with all the protruding stones doesn't look very wintry either. But you also have to say that today's tour needs a lot more snow than the last few days further north.
Snow quality
Wet fresh snow up to the summit region at 2600m. It was very warm today, diffuse radiation and steamy. As soon as the sun peeked out for a moment, the snow pellets came down everywhere. It was ok for riding today, but tomorrow it will be crap.
Risks
Drift snow was not a problem on ours. Rather, the onset of moisture penetration and wet loose snow avalanches. The drift snow problem should continue to ease today. Maybe something will change on the 3 tomorrow.
Overall impression
After yesterday's good day, today was a bit of a dampener. Visibility was very poor today, so I can only judge our tour. What was briefly visible in a sunny window didn't look so good. You can drive to the parking lot after Tschuggen by car. After that, the "x-drive mountain" begins and heavily motorized Bmw's whiz past as you climb along the pass road.
