Snow condition
In the last nordstau there was 1.7m of fresh snow on the glacier, so the snow conditions were ok. Ascent through the Obersulzbachtal, from 1350m almost continuously on skis. However, the road was cleared up to 1700m. Today on the descent, therefore, more carrying points, soon it will be worthwhile with the bike.

Snow quality
You can find almost all types of snow. It was best on the glacier between 3300m and 2800m with settled powder snow and then between 2600m and 2000m firn/sulz. It was better than we had expected on the ascent.
Risks
Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)
New drift snow at the top due to today's freshening wind, spring conditions at the bottom.
Overall impression
Beautiful tour in a great setting. Snow and descent better than expected. Only the valley is really very long.
