Variations of snow cover

Sufficient snow for Rontal-Tortalrunde from and to the parking lot. Plenty of snow up to the tree line, slope to Torscharte heavily blown off: Ascent possible, almost not enough for descent. Tortal surprisingly well filled, not affected by wind and best snow conditions, stone contact avoidable. Currently only recommended with descent via Tortal.

Snow quality

Powder snow

Surprisingly and against all expectations, the descent in the Tortal is surprisingly good: the southeast-facing slopes are beautifully slushy, further down they are gritty and powdery, with a thin layer of melt here and there.

Risks

No warning signs

Equal

Better than expected: good snow conditions in the Tortal with slush and powder, easy descent to the parking lot

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
