Im Karwendel noch guter Pulver Nord zw. 1600-2000m

Snow condition
We were able to get a parking space at 8 am. The snow conditions on the north side are still very good. Up to about 1500 m you can ski well on the north side, then the snow becomes insufficient. On forest paths you can still ski up to about 1200m
Snow quality
Good powder snow in places. Nevertheless, large areas of drift snow. Good to ski! Still good even with sun. Better than the icy wind crust or the old snow cover that looks blown out again.
Risks
On a very steep slope, a square meter of floe has been released on the surface. Snow is bound, but does not slide off. And no break propagation seen. Relatively stable conditions as there wasn't an enormous amount of snow being transported. But we weren't above 2000m today either. It can be more critical at the top. No surface frost or angular crystals seen which would be important for upcoming snowfalls
Overall impression
Beautiful ski tour with powder snow. Once again discovered a new corner of the Karwendel. Now we have to hope that the fresh snowfall will also bring winter back to medium and low altitudes.
