Snow condition
Snow-free until the end of the toll road at the Engalmen. Here anyway until May 1st by bike. From the starting point for the skis (small power station house) it's about a 10-minute walk. Then snow throughout. The amount of carrying will quickly increase, but the tour is still going well for quite a while!
Snow quality
Mixed. Very hard but grippy in the upper section and gully to Hochglück. Nice firn in the middle section, then slowing slush. It didn't freeze through during the night. It was only really hard from about 2,000 m upwards.
Risks
Pay attention to the time of day when it warms up. Most of the larger slides are down, but with the high temperatures you should be out early. Departure at 10.00 a.m. was still fine.
Overall impression
Genius bike & ski tour. From May 1st, the opening of the toll road will put an end to the peace and quiet. Until then, there are still quite few other people on the road, but you have to cycle the tour with 15 km and 300 m difference in altitude.
