With the precipitation came about 50 cm of fresh snow. The base is also really good in the forest. Areas exposed to the wind, ridges and crests are almost snow-free.
Snow quality
The fresh snow did not fall at the coldest temperatures and was a little compact. Nevertheless, it was very easy to ride and there was rare contact with the hard surface in places exposed to the wind and in the very dense forest. All in all, it's just enough for 4 stars.
Risks
Very tricky. In the flat forest, on forest paths, the settling noises followed us almost everywhere today. I can't remember a day when I've heard the humming noise more often. We were very defensive today. You have to be extremely critical when judging the edges of the terrain at the tree line. The fresh snow slides off the rain crust. We couldn't find any snow-covered surface rime today when we looked at the snow cover several times.
Overall impression
Despite the limited possibilities due to the avalanche situation, it was a pretty good day.
