With about 40cm of fresh snow over the last few days, it still looks pretty good above about 1,200m and surprisingly better than a few weeks ago.
Snow quality
Pretty heavy fresh snow, especially because we waited a bit for better visibility and it was a bit too long until the first sun was already there. But relatively much with about 20cm of new snow since yesterday.
Risks
On the south side we saw some loose snow avalanches coming down from the Hochkönig massif from around midday (3-4 per hour just where we were). We also saw a few new (since yesterday) snow slabs on steep slopes. But the snow on our flat slope was already well settled.
Overall impression
Well, even if we had been out earlier, the snow would certainly not have been fluffy powder. Nevertheless, another great day on the mountain.
