Bad, especially in the lower areas. You have to carry everywhere here. Nevertheless, there is still some worthwhile stuff. In some gullies there will still be some for a while. Certainly better than in the north.
Snow quality
Very variable at the top: a few cm of fresh snow, wind-pressed ice, rain crust and broken snow. From around 1900 then super smooth firn and summer snow.
Risks
Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)
Steep and exposed to the sun, it becomes very soft. Overall, however, it is easy to assess.
Overall impression
Once again on the Hochkönig firn side. Unfortunately, most of the time you have to carry and there were challenging snow conditions at the top. From at least the halfway point, however, it was cool summer snow and overall, as always there, a breathtaking ambience. The Tauern look amazingly good, I'll have a look there soon. Please note, the photo is just a screenshot of the webcam from the Arturhaus, a few kilometers further east from my tour. Unfortunately I forgot my cell phone.
