Snow condition
We were out and about all day today below the tree line, mainly in the north-west exposure in the altitude range from 1300 m to 1750 m. In this wind-protected accumulation area there was around 30 cm + of fresh snow until shortly after midday. In this altitude range, it was possible to ski without contact with other skiers or without an unsightly base. We once skied southwards up to about 1000 m. That went without any major problems, but many streams, tree stumps, fences or other obstacles are not really well snowed in yet. Caution is advised there! At lower altitudes, the fresh snow lies on bare ground.
Snow quality
Very nice to ride at the top. There were lots of face shots and many happy faces. Below around 1200 m, the snow becomes quite heavy, which was due to the not particularly low temperatures in the valley (around 0 °C). However, it was only a few meters and we were in the good range most of the time, making it just 4 stars.
Risks
Difficult to say. Due to the heavy snowfall and consequently poor visibility, we were only out and about in the sheltered forest. However, the considerable amount of fresh snow with lots of wind should ring alarm bells when it comes to the area above the tree line. For us today, the situation was quite relaxed and the main danger came from obstacles in the terrain.
Overall impression
Very nice short trip with decent snow.
