Overall impression

3 days (18th-20th) in the Innsbruck Rinnenschau'n area (2700-2000m) - personal gaps are filled, as is so often the case when there is little snow. 2-star downhill quality - 5-star scenery. Still powder on the west side late in the afternoon on the 18th, but already capped the following day. "Who needs powder?" - when you're gliding downhill, you're happy about a narrow, somehow grippy band. That was still there - on the east and west side, although it was sometimes difficult to swing out, short skis (130cm) were helpful. Crampons were with me (but not in use), ice axe in my hand as an emergency tool when traversing a rock ledge over rock (picture). On the east side I was too late for a baked gully floor, unfortunately there was nothing to take with me. On the 20th, after 1 hour of waiting, the south-west side cheek opened up and made it possible to enter - otherwise avoid the washed out (partly icy) middle of the gully and make meters in the shaded area all day long. Handrail bars are exciting to take if there is no loose snow underneath to slow you down. You don't have to do all this - it's more recommended for technicians and gully tourists, because you have enough time to look at the gullies... soon more photos on (kurz.ski)

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
