Top, but dangerous

Snow condition
At 2000m there was about 1m of fresh snow. Large pillows are slowly forming. In the valley the snow is very wet and heavy, but even there there is almost 50cm of snow. So a great base. And for once, the snow hasn't just arrived in spring, but just in time for high winter.
Snow quality
The upper part of the ski area was closed today. The snow there is probably a bit wind-packed. Below 2000m it is fantastic for skiing, but not waist-deep, only knee-deep. But you can also make good progress in less steep terrain. Below 1500m it becomes increasingly heavy and wet.
Risks
Great avalanche danger. It is very dangerous. The snow fell on an unfavorable surface with a lot of wind. I was very lucky today. For the first time I had to pull out my airbag backpack in an emergency. I triggered a snow slab about 40m wide with a 1m edge in the non-dense forest at 1750m. A moment of shock. This was because I spotted a chamois further ahead and wanted to stop immediately so that it could escape in peace. As I braked, the slope appeared. Fortunately, I was flushed against a fir tree where I could stop and the avalanche went down to my left and right. So, tomorrow is the first nice day after the fresh snow. Take care!
Overall impression
Absolutely top. Super base, pillows. The view will also be good tomorrow. It could hardly be better.
I was First today. But the whole Jungfrau region was well supplied with snow.
