Snow condition

2 von 5 Sterne

Above 2000m above sea level, the snow conditions in the First area are good. Already last week (see picture with nice weather) there was 60cm of compact and wind-pressed snow above 2000m. However, most of this fell as rain. This is why the snow cover below 2000m is decreasing rapidly and there is hardly any base below 1600m on the southern slopes. In the Kl. Scheidegg area, the snow conditions were very poor until last week. In the night to today there was 40cm of snow of the best quality, without wind. Below 1600m, however, the snow is increasingly wet and heavy. The snow cover was still very airy today (see picture in bad weather), if you put pressure on it, you could still feel the ground. When the snow cover settles down a bit, it will be even better and more precipitation is forecast for Wednesday. From then on, the Jungfrau Region should finally have top freeride conditions.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Above 1600m very good. It snowed with practically no wind. The storm from the weekend gradually abated as soon as the snowfall began. Below 1600m, the snow cover is heavy and wet.

Risks

Considerable in all exposures, but the layers are relatively well connected and it snowed with little wind. Above 2000m, the danger increases as drift snow accumulations have occurred at altitude in recent days.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

It's slowly getting really good. Visibility was poor all day today and it was snowing. That's why the whole area is still practically untouched. Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
