When we arrived on February 11th, the snow conditions seemed quite good at first glance. But during the first digging exercises, we were already on the ground with a shovel load. South-facing slopes could be shoveled free by hand while there was still snow. After 5 days of sunshine, there was actually only decent snow on the north side with a minimal base. Unfortunately, a proper tour was not possible. Today, new snow finally arrived, but the snow line was initially at 1600 meters. In the afternoon it was even lower.

The north side is really still quite ok, all other exposures are crying out for spring.

Risks

The main danger came from accumulations of drift snow and, due to the warmth, sliding snow avalanches. However, I wasn't able to observe any avalanches myself.

Was another nice week in Adelboden - sun, peace and quiet and few people. But the amount of snow was nothing...The statements only refer to the areas up to approx. 2200 meters. Everything above that didn't look so bad.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
