Poor visibility, but awesome powder on the north side

Overall impression
Snow condition
Above 1500m the snow conditions are very good. Good base. But below that you are quickly on grass. On the south side there is often only a 10 cm layer of fresh snow, with meadow underneath. On the north side it is better down to the valley floor. Above 2000m the snow is heavily blown, the ridges are mostly bare.
Snow quality
On the north side it is perfect, deep, airy powder, on the south side you can feel the old layer of fractured resin. There's about 10-15cm of fresh snow on top. This morning it snowed as far as Grindelwald, but in between it's raining up to at least 1600m. The next cold front will arrive on Tuesday!
Risks
Today the snow cover looked very stable to me. I couldn't get any snow to slide anywhere and didn't see any avalanches. But it was blowing very strongly from the west and there will be large accumulations of drifting snow this night.
Overall impression
The winter and freeride conditions in the mountains are glorious. Unfortunately, the lowlands and lower-lying villages hardly get a taste of it. Spring is coming tomorrow, next week it will be winter again. In short: above 1500m and on the north side, the powder conditions are awesome.
