Exposition
Snow condition
Very good snow conditions. The crevasse cover is excellent this year. Jungfrau summit doable without rock contact. Huts are full but it is spread out over the terrain
Snow quality
Good powder on north-facing and sheltered slopes above about 3300m. Otherwise, in many places, broken snow or bearing firn, especially on the Aletsch Glacier
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
Sunburn is the biggest danger at the moment. There was also an accident today on the north side of the Aletschhorn near the Hasler Rippe. Conditions here looked good though. Wet avalanches from midday onwards from rocky and steep terrain can be avoided if you are on the move early. Firn from about 10.30 a.m. on the south-east side
Overall impression
Good weather great mountains. All the normal routes here to the 4000 of the Bernese are currently very feasible according to the hut keepers. Observations in the terrain confirm this.
