Grimselpass - ganz schön nass
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Certainly very good for mid-May. See photo, departure to trunk made at 1700.
Snow quality
Completely soaked and only at the wind edge a supporting 10cm support. Not so bad for riding, catastrophic for climbing.
Risks
That's it, it's actually done at the low altitude. We started late but it was rather warm all day and had been for two days. So it's all too lazy in the lower altitudes. After we had kicked off bigger and bigger slush sluffs, we had no courage to continue and turned back.
Overall impression
Beautiful because of the evening sun and snow-covered slopes. There just wasn't much ski touring. But there was premium wine and a premium fondue in the forest on a premium pitch with a full moon dance of joy around the premium campfire.
