Snow report Jungfrau Region, 12/21/2014
Above 1800m the base is not so bad, now it just has to snow on it...
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
Below 1600m green, then increasingly white. Above 2000m on north-facing slopes and even some powder, but heavily blown. The hollows were well filled as a result. Nevertheless, the conditions require very good foresight and reading of the snow and terrain. It is best to take old skis.
Snow quality
You can find everything from powder to quarry resin.
Risks
Too little snow... However, the situation in the high mountains above 2500m has to be assessed differently. The wind has transported a lot of snow, the snowpack structure and the low snow depth have a negative impact on the avalanche risk.
Overall impression
Preferably a big load of snow and then it would be quite acceptable. Something might be expected on Thursday and Sunday. You can find out which lifts and pistes are open at http://www.jungfrau.ch/tourismus/skigebiet/aktuell/ Unfortunately, no downhill runs are possible. The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
