Above 2000m there is a good base on the Schilthorn. 2000m is also about the limit where the powder snow turns to ice and where the snow line was yesterday. Above that, the snow is heavily blown. In some places, however, I was able to sink my 1.20m ski pole without any problems. If you ski a little in the hollows, you don't have any stone contact. However, the ridges are completely blown off.

Strong winds above 2000m. Super optimal. Snowboarders had more fun offpiste than skiers. Below 2000m it's very hard because of the rain (ice slab). But all it needs is a nice snowfall without wind and then it will be great! Maybe from Saturday.

Risks

Considerable. There were very large snow drifts. It remains tricky.

Overall impression

The base is ok, it will be fine after the next snowfall.
Good skiing as far as Mürren. In Grindelwald, no valley piste is open yet. But the new Männlichen cable car takes you up and down quickly. Top conditions up to Holenstein (piste). Next to it as on the Schilthorn (above 2000m) good.

Recommendable: Freeride Guide Jungfrau Region (available at www.freerideguide.ch)
or the brand new Hike and Fly Guide Bernese Oberland with some FlyToSki and Ski&Fly tours in the Jungfrau Region.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
