Snow report Jungfrau Region, 12/29/2016
Ski tour from the Jungfraujoch to the Unners Mönchsjoch. The fantastic mountain scenery compensates for the lack of snow. Uninteresting skiing, but top scenery.

Snow condition
The tour has hardly any crevasses and is therefore easy to do even when there is little snow. From Unners Mönchsjoch we flew with small paragliders over the sea of ice to Grindelwald.
Snow quality
It was easy to ski. However, the old snow is heavily blown and somewhat irregular.
Risks
Where there is no snow, there can be no slipping. And wet snow avalanches are not to be expected at this altitude at this time of year.
Overall impression
Always a feasible ski tour. The Mönchsjochhütte is manned over the festive period. In the ski areas of the Jungfrau Region, the slopes are well covered with snow and one valley run is open. However, snow is urgently needed for off-piste skiing. Further information on freeriding in the Jungfrau Region at www.freerideguide.ch
