Descent through forest

Below-average snow conditions for early February. However, open forest tracks are usually easy to ski, there is hardly any snow in the dense forest.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

Approx. 15cm of old powder lies on a soft base. Where there are no old tracks, it's great to ski. I was only out in the forest today, on open slopes the foehn often raged yesterday and pressed the snow hard in places.

Risks

Old snow problem

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

I couldn't hear any settling noises in the forest today, but I wouldn't ride extremely steep lines even there because of the old snow problem

Overall impression

Equal

Nice afternoon round in the Kalkkögeln. With a bit of effort and fighting through the undergrowth you can still find quite nice lines, further up in many slopes strong wind influence.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
