Snow condition
At the top, the base is sufficient, further down you sometimes uncover some meadow or alpine roses while riding. Together with the relatively cold temperatures and the powder snow, it almost feels like Christmas. Unfortunately, with the April sun in the coming days, it will all melt away quite quickly. At the bottom you have to unbuckle from time to time, but there aren't any really long stretches yet.

Snow quality
Thanks to the thick cloud cover! Today, too, you could once again push away the sad thoughts of the approaching summer in the powder snow. Due to the slightly increased snow density, it wasn't quite as dusty today, but the snow was still very good to ski on and didn't really get sunstroke yet. Further up there were some signs of wind, but I can't say any more about that as we stayed below 2200.

From a distance, we saw quite large areas of blown-off snow near the ridge, indicating fairly thick drift snow packs. As expected, many gullies were groomed, despite the considerable avalanche danger. Given the good snow conditions and the low avalanche risk below 2200m, I can't understand why, but at least it was deserted here.
Overall impression
Beautiful day with mediocre light conditions, which thankfully preserved the powder a little.
