Offside, you can ski down to the lowest lift without touching the ground in all exposures. In the north face itself, the biggest rocks are sticking out. There are no big surprises under the snow. The snow cover is good enough

We took the first lift up at 8.30 and got onto the wall at around 9. The timing was perfect. The snow on the ascent was still grippy although the wall gets sun early due to the high sun. The first two hundred meters were in ankle-deep snow. Perfect steep face conditions on the descent at 11.30. There was a lot of sluff in the steepest section. Overall, the snow in the wall remained dry and loose until the last turn and almost powdery in the direction of the old snow.

Risks

No avalanche activity observed in the wall for the last three days. Not today either. Warming is not an issue if you leave early. Otherwise, watch out for wet snow in the off-piste area, especially in combination with terrain traps.

Overall impression

4 von 5 Sterne

Great steep face conditions in the Kaunertal and much better than expected. The conditions seem to have improved significantly since Bergaster's last CR. Great firn runs are still possible until the lift closes. The wall is also sure to be good tomorrow before the new snow arrives.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
