Snow report Kaunertal, 04/29/2017
Die Sonne hat gestern ganz schöne Arbeit geleistet, deutlich schlechter als gestern in Hintertux.

Snow condition
In terms of snow, not as much has come down here as in the Zillertal. I would guess 30 to max. 40cm. Compared to last week, it doesn't really look much whiter. However, the snow conditions on the glacier are quite good, the crevasses are mostly closed and stone contact is very rare. From about 2300m onwards, however, rock contact must be expected, especially on the south and west sides;
Snow quality
Still quite fluffy at the top, but not so good due to the sun yesterday. Further down (from 2500m) we had a mixture of harsch, firn and powder snow.
Risks
Not quite without, according to LLB warning level 3, but the snow cover has already settled a little. There were several small snow slabs to be seen. We even skied some really steep stuff, which I wouldn't do at the moment. The main problem is the daytime warming and drifting snow.
Overall impression
Nice day, which certainly had potential.
