Only 1 1/2 weeks had passed since my first attempt to ride the NW. It's frightening how much snow has melted away in those few days. Significantly more rocks and bare ice...
Snow quality
Saturday the snow was still ok. A little blown in, but with a good grip. Then on Sunday, with the arrival of fog, it was just sticky and unstable.
Risks
Overall impression
Saturday we did the right variant through the rocks of the north face, Sunday the direct variant. Conditions not great, but at least it was still done. Unfortunately there's not much left of the good winter after the hot April.
