Snow report Kaunertal, 12/11/2014

Foehn storm light.... Severe foehn storm on the Kaunertal glacier today. It was really blowing, especially in the upper areas. Big snow plumes on all the peaks and ridges. Lifts were all running, it wasn't that bad again!

It has snowed about 5-10 cm in the Kaunertal since last week! At the bottom this is mainly for cosmetic purposes, at the top this fresh snow was to be enjoyed in the morning. Over the course of the day, the beautiful powder snow turned into beautiful wind slush... In the meantime you can ski a little more, but of course it's still very limited! Shark attack is still the order of the day!!!

Good in the morning, at the end of the ski day I can only award one star! Windswept at the top, in the middle altitudes the snow is still wonderfully powdery (but if you ski here, you're skiing in a shark tank)

Risks

Due to the strong wind, heavy drifts and lots of drifting snow. Absolute caution is advised!!!

All in all, a good day's skiing thanks to the sun...
