Snow condition
It's more than in the northern Alps, but that doesn't mean much. On the one hand, it has accumulated quite well in sheltered areas, but there is a lot of blowing at the top and below 1200m it only works on very favorable ground. But then you can ski down into the valley and it's often bad in the forest.
Snow quality
Very hard at the top, unfortunately there was hardly any firn at the top today, especially not on the north side, and in the middle layers there was a mix of relatively soft snow that was easy to ski and partly broken snow.
Risks
Moderate.a lot of compact, hard snow, especially higher up.the snow cover is deeply soaked in the middle elevations, often with a lid. Many snow mouths could be seen, but not everything has been unloaded yet.
Overall impression
Cool tour with a bit of adventure flavor by wayfinding and some nice turns.
Good company and good skiing today. The Tauernblick was also great,
but also too much hard snow and a nasty foehn wind. Unfortunately also some diffuse light.
Nice nonetheless!
