Snow condition
The snow cover is very good for mid-January. Many terrain edges were not blown off today, terrain obstacles such as forest paths and streams are well filled with snow.
Snow quality
We were out and about on the north and east sides today. The snow was nicely settled in both exposures and, thanks to the cold temperatures, was still as soft as butter. It didn't blow through onto a harder surface. Only the first two turns in the northern exposure were a little wind-treated.
Risks
The snow cover made a very stable impression today. Surprisingly, only very few fish mouths could be seen, which is good. The drift snow accumulations close to the ridge were very easy to recognize and could no longer be disturbed in moderate terrain.
Overall impression
Fine sunny day with good snow thanks to cold temperatures!
