You drive into the Kitzbühel snow hole and even there you can only give one star below 1400m. In the valley bottom, it was obviously free of snow before the last snowfall, but above that (except for the blown-off ridges) it quickly becomes more so that a free choice of route is possible on the slopes. On the other hand, it's January, the streams are all open and you have to reckon with bad sharks even in the deep snow in the steep shade. The only thing that helps is that it is probably worse everywhere else. 2 stars with a bit of good will.

For the fact that it has thawed a good half meter since last weekend, the snow was still really good as hoped - a mixture of settled, pimple powder and blown-in stuff. There was also no wind in the extended northern sector. Quite homogeneous and (if it weren't for the sharks) fast to ride! As the mountain offers wide downhill options on almost all sides, there was even plenty of space for your own tracks. Below 1700 it was a bit damp in the warm temperatures, but still fun, enough for 3 * despite the poor snow conditions.

Risks

Very well set, looks as if concreted over. No danger signs perceived. There was virtually no wind at all.

Well, on the one hand I wasn't expecting much, but on the other hand I didn't even get many people and great snow. But in the middle of the whooping, you remember that it's the end of January and that it's green under the trees at almost 2000m.
It was worth it for us today, especially as the cloud cover opened up a bit just for us. But supplies would be necessary as long as the little bit of base is still there.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
