Snow condition
The snow conditions are generally quite thin. Nevertheless, you can get into the valley quite well on the north side. On the south side, things are slowly but surely getting tight. The descent variant is already chosen there according to the snow conditions.
Snow quality
In the sheltered north-facing terrain, we found about 15-20 cm of powder today. This went quite well up to about 1650 m. After that there was a pretty stark transition from set powder to frozen, unattractive snow. On the south side there was a thin but stable cover with a knee-deep layer of powder (at least in the morning). Where there were no tracks, the skiing was quite solid. The traces of the rain during the week were visible and noticeable.
Risks
The wind got stronger during the course of the day and by midday you could clearly see the snow plumes. In addition to the old snow problem, you should also watch out for drift snow and, on the south side, wet loose snow avalanches and sliding snow avalanches on steep meadow slopes. We were able to recognize a few small, already departed, wet loose snow avalanches on steep, rocky terrain.
Overall impression
Skiing for half a day in sunny weather is better than lying on the couch at home. Fresh snow is urgently needed.
