Snow condition

1 von 5 Sterne
10 cm fresh snow
Descent to valley (to 900 m)
Stone Contact avoidable
Variations of snow cover

Very bad for January in the griesner kar. The start/finish at griesner alm is still possible, but the annual tricky spots in the forest are already clear. Compared to other years, there is also little snow at the very top of the ridge, but still enough there

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne
Hard, pressed snow
Breakable crust
Jelly snow

Hard cover at the bottom, more or less frozen slush depending on the time of day. From 1400m upwards wet, over 1900 wet fresh snow. In the afternoon it started to freeze over -> slushy. Before that it was still ok to ski, but with a lot of effort, especially in the tracked section

Risks

Diurnal warming
Much water in the snow cover
North West North-West

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

Well-set conditions. The scgbee suffers mainly from its own moist load. Slugs, loose snow slides and crawling movements visible everywhere

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne
Worse

Even though it was a super fun day, objectively I can't quite give it three stars. It was warmer and therefore much harder than we had hoped, even at the top. The steep gaps at the top are still cool to ride, but the expectations were higher.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
