Variations of snow cover

Lift-assisted tours in the central Kitzbühel Alps. In sunny exposures below approx. 1500 m, the botany is already reappearing. Still manageable, but the situation will deteriorate significantly in the coming days with the higher temperatures. The snow situation is also ok on the north side but below average there too. Areas exposed to the wind are more or less bare. You can still reach the valley without any problems on shady forest paths.

Wind drifted snow

There was almost everything today: powder snow in shady corners protected from the wind, a nasty cover where the wind was blowing and the snow became soft again in the morning in open areas on the south-east side.

Intensity: medium

Risks

South-West West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

The drift snow accumulations near the crest were clearly visible and already very well connected to the old snow cover. With the rising temperatures, sliding snow activity could increase on the sunny side over the next few days.

Worse

Got some nice lines with skins today. It needs some fresh snow in good time. Hopefully the warmth of the coming days won't put too much strain on the manageable base.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
