As we ascended via the piste in the ski area, we didn't have any problems. In general, you can say that the amount of snow increases on the way from Chiemsee to Pillersee. From Kössen onwards, the meadows are white. At lower altitudes, it's bare in the forest, but even at an estimated 700 m above sea level, there's snow there too. From 1200 m there is a reasonable base in any case.

During the night and already during our nightly ascent it started to snow heavily and almost without a breath of air! The next day, 20 cm of fresh powder on a soft base awaited us. At the top there were great runs and also some pillow lines in the trees.

Risks

Yesterday evening, a single was issued for this region and altitude. However, the descent is in the marked exposures. But there are no dangerously steep slopes anyway. The avalanche warning level will probably increase again later on due to the snowfall.

Because of the bivouac action, the tour was a lot of fun and the awesome descent the next day was also great! Overjoyed screaming was appropriate after the first powder!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
