Basically more or less unchanged since the end of December. A little snow in the valley, a little more on the mountain but not much anywhere. You can ski quite well in snow-covered terrain above the tree line or in moderate alpine terrain, but there's nothing in the forest, so you need a forest road, a piste or a flat meadow towards the valley - really poor overall for mid-February.

Snow quality

After it was still quite good yesterday, the high temperature (10 degrees at 2000m early in the morning) made the snow quite wet even on shady slopes, which limited the skiing fun accordingly, depending on the exposure the snow is damp or wet. The only thing that helps here is a load of fresh snow or, if necessary, a good freeze-through and subsequent re-freezing.

Risks

Especially on steep slopes, moist loose snow will come loose, otherwise it is certainly not super critical in the high altitudes of the Kitzbühel Alps.

Bad snow, after all, there's not much of it!

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
