Variations of snow cover

The snowfall of around 30 cm has brought winter back. However, the snow lies on bare ground below approx. 1400 m, especially on the sunny side. In the summit area it is around 35 cm. Terrain traps are very present in the area below 1400 m; you should navigate carefully there. In general, the snow conditions are not particularly abundant. You can only reach the valley on north-facing forest paths.

Powder snow

We started on the south side. There was already a slight settlement there in the early morning, but it was very easy to ride. By mid-morning, the party was over on the sunny side (the sun and temperatures were working hard) and we switched to the north side. There was dusty powder (4 stars). The bottom line is three stars.

Risks

Diurnal warming
Much fresh snow

Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)

At the start, snow plumes could be seen in the summit regions. However, there was no wind in the area all day. The accumulations of drift snow near the ridges were very small. On the sunny side, the snow was already sliding slightly in the middle of the morning.

Overall impression

Worse

Good day in the area. Good lines found in the best weather. Only the lack of snow at lower altitudes spoiled the fun a little.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
