Variations of snow cover

A brief update, as there have been some changes, especially in the snow conditions, and not for the better. The current position of the sun and the spring-like temperatures do not allow any meaningful activities in the south/southeast sector below 1500 m on the second day after the precipitation.

Powder snow

I was only out and about in the wind-protected northern sector. There was butter-soft "lightly" set powder snow. Everything that has seen sun and wind is no longer fun.

Risks

Diurnal warming
South-East South

Wind intensity: Medium (20 – 40 km/h)

The influence of the wind could be felt today in the summit regions and on the ridge. Old tracks from yesterday were more or less covered up again. Accumulations of drift snow were manageable in moderate terrain close to the ridge and easy to avoid. I would be critical of steep lee-side entrances.

Overall impression

Worse

Another top day with the best weather and decent snow quality.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
