Off-piste skiing in the area: Very little snow and this was very modest apart from a few cm of fresh snow, plus a "wonderful" foggy soup. There have been better days this season...

Snow condition
Very bad! On the north side, it looks visually white and you can still get halfway down the mountain with the right choice of slopes. To the east, south and west, the situation doesn't look appealing, especially on the south side, you don't have to think about skiing off-piste below 1800 meters. Due to the fog, you couldn't see the full extent today. Where there is still snow, the storm of the last few days has worked hard and the snow conditions are very uneven.
Snow quality
It rained in the valley and as the altitude increased, the precipitation changed from sleet to snow. Between approx. 1700 m and 1900 m on the north side, where there were hardly any old tracks, it was possible to ski halfway on the few cm of fresh snow cover with some drift snow. Below approx. 1700 m there was a nasty hard ice pack with a layer of fresh snow or sleet as deep as a mouse's knee. Towards the valley, there was then powder snow, which was almost one of the highlights today.
Risks
We were only below 1950 m altitude today. The barely existing, still loose drift snow made a stable impression on the north side in the moderate terrain (around 30°). The wind became weaker in the course of the morning, but still carried snow. Some of the wind tracks from the last few days could be seen from the lift. Drift snow will certainly be the main danger below 2000 m.
Overall impression
One of the worst days this season!
