Snow condition
Still very bad. After it has rained again, albeit only briefly, at around 1800 m, it is becoming increasingly scarce, especially in the valley. actually, you need forest roads below the tree line except in open and flat alpine terrain, but even on these, at least below 1300 m, you can no longer continue completely on snow. it should be noted, however, that the snow cover in the highest areas of the Kitzbühel Alps is slowly but surely increasing, at least where the snow is not permanently blown away by the wind. Nevertheless, it is to be feared that the season will be very short.
Snow quality
Difficult today, it would certainly have looked much better higher up. At 1900m there is just under 20cm of soft snow, unfortunately there is a very damp layer on top of about 10cm of softer snow, then a few cm of soft snow on top of that. It's strange and difficult to drive, and everywhere where the sun only came briefly there is slush anyway.
Risks
Beware of wet snow, but the snow cover is so thin, especially on steep terrain, that the danger will be manageable here too.
Overall impression
Unfortunately not so great. Soon, or actually from now on, you should go to higher altitudes.
Sorry for the lack of pictures, had left the cell phone at home.
The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.
Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
