Snow condition
Good! The Griesener Alm could still be a good starting point for tours in the Winden Kaiser until May.
Snow quality
Mostly unstable harsch, sometimes icy, not easy to walk on. From midday, the north-facing cirques are quite slushy. The second star is for the compact powder in the steep gully to the 'Schönwetterfensterl', which with luck will last until tomorrow or perhaps the day after tomorrow
Risks
Stage 1 in the morning, stage 2 in the afternoon. For my taste, some people were on the eastern slopes of the Goinger Scharte for a little too long, as you could already observe a small spontaneous loose snow slide from extremely steep terrain next door (also east) at around 11:00. On the descent (around 13:00) we crossed a large loose snow avalanche (unfortunately not directly observed) on a western slope, which claimed the life of at least one chamois.
Overall impression
Lots of hustle and bustle, challenging snow, a strenuous tour, but also sunburn, a panoramic view of the summit and the always challenging gully descent. Fits.
