As is absolutely usual at this time of year, it has to be carried as far as the forest. Now the ascent is still going quite well and with one unbuckling on the descent over the first steep step. But here, too, you will soon have to carry it. Apart from that, I was rather surprised at the decent amount of snow further up. It could all be a bit deceptive because of the last snowfall and the fact that it's going really fast now, but the overall picture in the upper sector was good. Ski tours can still be carried out here for a few weeks with a small carrying route. Currently about 45 minutes walk.

Not so great for the most part. It has rained a long way up and last night it rained quite a lot. Still rather boggy on the west side. Nice weather window was nice to ride. Hard snow at the top, slightly softened and getting wetter and wetter further down. Rotten from Fritzpflaumhütte onwards. With an early descent and a clear night you can catch it better.

Risks

The fresh snow was quickly soaked and, in my opinion, was critical on the east side from midday onwards. That didn't bother people much. I have often warned of avalanches/rock avalanches from the rocks here. There were a few smaller ones today. That's why you should always keep your distance from the rocks and you should also finish your tour here in good time and not climb up at midday, as seems to be the trend here.

Despite the lousy weather forecast, the day was very nice and quite a lot of people showed their healthy optimism and were out and about. It was my first time here this season and a really nice tour. But the weather would have held up in the high Alps, well. Don't forget the 4 euros in change for the toll road
