Snow condition

4 von 5 Sterne

The snow conditions are more than satisfactory after the abundant snowfalls of the last week. There is also good snow in the valley for once! We were able to ski from the Pinzgau valley from the quarry onwards, but one star is deducted because in places there is no firm base on small tree stumps to be kicked out properly. The powder mushroom on top usually just breaks away.

Snow quality

4 von 5 Sterne

Snow fell all day yesterday. With little wind in the valley. However, as the altitude increased, the wind picked up and the snow was blown away.

Risks

There is a serious avalanche situation. That's why we decided to turn back on the lake and sleep in the winter room of the service hut above the Postalm. A further ascent was too dangerous in the dense snow and steep terrain.

Overall impression

3 von 5 Sterne

Despite a tour that was more reminiscent of classic cross-country skiing, today started with sunshine. That somewhat made up for yesterday with 12 hours of tracks and SnowFlurry until late at night and a summit we didn't reach. It was also very comfortable in the winter room.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
