Generally very little snow up to high altitudes. Stone contact is almost always avoidable if you ski carefully.

Snow quality

3 von 5 Sterne

Surprisingly good, from 1800m solid frozen ground, below "swampy" but acceptable conditions. The ascent (7:00-10:00) was good with good grip up to 2200m and a little rough above that but unproblematic. Around 10:00-11:00 a nice firn descent to 1800m below that softer but OK

Risks

The LLB provides a good overview. On the southern sides, when there is still snow, you can sometimes see large avalanches right down to the ground. Otherwise, rockfall or rock contact is more of a problem.

Overall impression

A surprisingly good day for this season and a nice tour despite turning back before the summit. Good firn for most of the descent. On the approach below Kolm-Saigurn, the snow is already getting a bit thin.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
