Variantenfahren am Kitz: Sensationeller Ende April Powder, Ansturm wie im Hochwinter und das Wetter nicht optimal...

Snow condition
We found about 40 cm to 50 cm of fresh snow this morning, which had hardly any wind influence. However, this fresh snow was also necessary in order to ski the variants to Langwied (1976 m) properly. Most of the time we were able to do this without contact with other skiers. Visually speaking, the fun is over at this altitude limit during the ascent with the gondola. Still three stars.
Snow quality
The fresh snow was at its finest! Thanks to temperatures in the double-digit minus range, we were able to enjoy the 40 cm to 50 cm. It could hardly be better for the end of April. From midday onwards, the snow became a little heavier below 2300 m (whining on a high level). The snow quality also remained very fine for quite a long time, as the sun only came out sporadically.
Risks
Next surprise today. The LLB didn't sound particularly good for today. At Kitz, however, the situation was quite relaxed. We could only see a few very small superficial loose snow slides. The not exactly steep terrain as well as the bombing of the terrain after every snowfall certainly played a not too small role in this. Steeper traverses were not carried out due to the diffuse visibility. We wouldn't have done them even if visibility had been better.
Overall impression
A bomb day, actually, if the crowds hadn't been so massive and the visibility a little better. Nonetheless, we had the best powder and that at the end of April. Due to diffuse visibility and the huge crowds, there are no moving pictures.
