Snow condition

Snow depths between 5 cm and one meter, depending on the wind. All fresh snow, snow from the beginning of September only remains on the glaciers.

Snow quality

2 von 5 Sterne

Heavy & damp, which wasn't bad in this case because you hardly fell through onto the ground. In view of the general stoniness, very little stone contact. Dry and slightly windswept high up on the glacier. Snow profile: https://www.lawis.at/profiles/snowprofile_6477.png?v=348.47388806482235

Risks

As soon as it got a little warmer, wet snow slides everywhere that was steep enough. At lower altitudes, sliding snow avalanches, especially on steep meadow slopes.

Overall impression

2 von 5 Sterne

Well, about as you would imagine. Actually quite a lot of fresh snow and we were able to walk from the cable car completely on skis and also got back there on skis (and snow). Interesting cloud atmosphere. Otherwise, with regard to future old snow problems, it would be better to hope that it thaws completely.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
