Spring skiing on the Kitzsteinhorn
Snow condition
Snow quality
Overall impression
Snow condition
The snow cover is still quite thin. Off-piste skiing is still out of the question. The wind-exposed ridges and crests are more or less free of snow due to the longer foehn phase.
Snow quality
With temperatures of around +8 °C at 2400 m, spring-like skiing quickly set in. The morning was a mixture of slush and ice.
Risks
Crevasses, massive rocks and lots of skiers (not all of whom know what they are doing) are the main dangers.
Overall impression
Compared to last week, you could at least see the current conditions and at times even with sunshine.
