The warm temperatures have affected the little snow during the week. It is still white from Langwied onwards. But not for long at these temperatures. Off-piste skiing is very limited. The Schmiedingerkees is skiable, but in piste-like condition.
Snow quality
The slopes were grippy and easy to ski on for the first few hours.
Risks
The greatest danger comes from stones and crevasses. The strong wind is transporting snow. Some drift snow accumulations are bound to form on the leeward side. The thickness of these accumulations is very difficult to estimate.
Overall impression
Massive rush on the Kitzsteinhorn. Long waiting times at the lifts and consequently very early departures...
