Snow report Kleinwalsertal, 01/03/2020

Snow condition
Sufficient for safe tours from the parking lot (northern expo). The summit area has been affected by the wind and has faded, so you should be sure-footed. A large part of the southern exposure around the Walmendinger Horn has slipped and is therefore no longer reasonably skiable. Conclusion: stay in the shade and wait for the next snow.
Snow quality
Currently heavily dependent on 3 factors. In relation to this tour (largely in the shade): up to 1,500m the skins are already stubborn at 9am. This gives you the feeling of a spring tour at the beginning of April. Everything above that, up to 2,100m, was compressed by the wind into pure unpleasantness. An alternation between drifting snow, wind-compressed harsch cover and milled terrain. The (small) hope for north-facing powder was definitely taken away from me - you can do it (for training), but you don't have to.
Risks
LLB Vorarlberg still applies. The wind continues to move everything that can still be moved in the west-east area. Where the sun comes in, the snow masses are moving downhill on almost every slope. Where the whole slope has not yet gone, there are at least mouths to be seen.
Overall impression
The whole of the Allgäu is fleeing to the Walsertal. At least that's what it looks like at 8 o'clock in the morning at the ski touring parking lot. The slopes look accordingly. Too much has simply slid over them in too long a time. If you really want to have fun, you have to 1. search 2. be lucky and 3. save the moment. The wait for fresh snow continues.
