Variations of snow cover

Even in the Schafalpen below 1600m there is little snow where the sun reaches and in the forest sometimes not even enough to climb up. In steep mountain pine belts, there are always places where you have to carry things. but above that it's ok, but contact with stones cannot be ruled out even in Karen.

Hard, pressed snow
Powder snow

Where the sun reached, gummed up. Ascent tracks partly glassy. Still super fluffy in the shade. Where it has blown more on the north side than the flat 15-20cm from Thursday, there is enjoyable swinging with snow over the thigh. Otherwise often fluff on hard ground or sometimes stones.

Risks

North North-Eas North-West

Wind intensity: Low (< 20 km/h)

Runs superficially with sufficient steepness. But hardly any binding in sheltered areas. The wind forecast for today did not materialize and therefore no board formation during the day.

Overall impression

Equal

Really beautiful tour in the shadow of the Schalfalpen with good snow for a long time. Everything that is exposed to the sun, wind or lots of skiers is now hard and crusty. But if you choose your tour wisely, you're sure to find something for a few more days.

Note on Conditions Reports

The ConditionsReports are user-generated content - from freeriders for freeriders! Recently, a distinction has been made between MiniReport, which offers a quick status report with location, image/video and text, and ProReport, which requires more detailed information and can be uploaded by advanced users.

Every registered user can enter the MiniReport in the WebApp, iOS app or Android app. If you would also like to upload ProReports, please write to us at conditionsreporter@powderguide.com so that we can activate it for you and briefly explain it to you!
If you need help with the operation or have suggestions for improvement, please write to us at app@powderguide.com!
