Exposition
Snow condition
Baad covered in deep snow, well over 1m on the ground. Free choice of line
Snow quality
Blower Pow north to down, east to 1500m In the shadow of the wall. Everything that has seen the sun today is immediately heavy and gets a cap, all the way up.
Risks
Wind intensity: No Wind (0 km/h)
A 2 was issued up to 2000m. No sluff today at just under 35 degrees. Slippery snow and wet snow from rocky terrain is an issue in the south-east. A snow profile from a group of prospective mountain guides revealed a fairly stable snowpack. A break could be created under the fresh snow from Wed/Thu, but did not slide. At a depth of 1m, there was a less pronounced weak layer. Above that about 3cm of ice/harsh, so the weak layer is not very relevant.
Overall impression
Today must be the 5 stars! Simply brilliant. 1300m in the best snow on ideal slopes, great snow conditions, bright sunshine and I was so early that I didn't have to make tracks, but was down in the top 3 of the tracks. It couldn't have been better!
